AWARD WINNING CAKES

We are really proud to have Yasmin Limbert one of Great British bake Off Contestants making our cakes at Toast.
In her own words:
For reasons still unknown to me I was chosen to be one of 12 contestants on the 2011 ‘Great British Bake Off’.
 
I had no idea what I was letting myself in for, it was a relentlessly exhausting and emotional experience and one I would not have missed for the world.
 
I am also the Womens Institute Cook of The Year 2010-2011. To my knowledge they didn't have the competition again so I think that makes me the reigning champion.  I write a cookery page for 2 local magazines and I supply cakes  to many  outlets in my local area. 
 
I love to create, whether it’s from a basket of ingredients, a pile of scrap wool, a hessian sack or some second hand china, I find it really difficult to throw anything away.  So if you regularly say:  ‘What can I make with that’ or can’t see good food go to waste and end up with boxes of apples left on your doorstep.
 
My favourite cake is Blackforest Gateaux, a bit retro I know but a classic. The first thing I cooked was Jam Tarts with my mum.
